Work With Us

AI is changing everything. We want to be at the front of it.

Boldist is a design and development studio founded in 2008. We’ve always done custom work. What’s changing is everything else, and
we’re looking for people who want to figure it out together.

  • Digital Designer - Orlando, FL

    Apply
    • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
    • Full-time, Contract, Freelance

      The Role

We're looking for a Digital Designer who takes ownership of design problems, not just design tasks. You'll drive the design process from research to developer handoff, working closely with our team to understand what the client needs, land on the right approach, and deliver work that developers can build from without guessing.

The majority of your work will be designing responsive websites and eCommerce experiences for our agency clients, but you'll also take on UI design for web applications when those projects come through.

You need to understand how the web works. What's possible in code, how responsive layouts behave, and how to design for real-world constraints. You won't be writing code, but you'll be handing off to developers who do, and the quality of that handoff matters.

Your typical week includes designing responsive page layouts in Figma, creating wireframes, building and maintaining component libraries, preparing detailed design specs for developer handoff, and collaborating with the team to solve design problems. You'll work across multiple client projects simultaneously at agency pace.

      What You'll Need

      Required:

      • 3+ years of professional design experience, ideally in an agency or multi-client environment
      • Expert-level Figma skills (components, auto-layout, variants, prototyping, design tokens)
      • Strong portfolio demonstrating responsive web design (not just mobile apps)
      • Ability to design from wireframes through to high-fidelity, developer-ready mockups
      • Understanding of responsive design patterns and how layouts translate to code
      • Excellent typography, layout, and visual hierarchy skills
      • Experience creating and maintaining design systems and component libraries
      • Understanding of eCommerce UX patterns (product pages, checkout flows, navigation)
      • Strong communication skills (you can explain design decisions clearly)
      • Portfolio with live websites that were built from your designs

      Preferred:

      • Experience designing for WordPress and Shopify platforms
      • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS (you don't need to write it, but understanding it makes you better)
      • Experience with user research and usability testing
      • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
      • Motion design / micro-interaction design skills

      About Us

Boldist is a design and development studio founded in 2008. We've built hundreds of websites and eCommerce stores, launched brands from the ground up, and defined content strategies for multi-billion dollar companies. We do custom work and we care about getting better at it.

What is changing is everything else. AI is reshaping how design and development work, and we want to be at the front of that wave, not reacting to it. We're looking for people who are curious about that shift and want to figure it out together.

We want people who are invested in the work. Not just completing tasks, but thinking about how to do them better.

      What We Offer

      Compensation & Benefits:

      • Competitive salary based on experience
      • Generous PTO (vacation, personal days, and company holidays)
      • Modern equipment and software licenses provided
      • Retirement plan

      Professional Growth:

      • Diverse project portfolio spanning multiple industries
      • Conference attendance and training opportunities
      • Small teams where your contributions are immediately visible
      • Direct impact on the design direction of the projects you touch
      • Opportunity to build and shape design systems from the ground up

      Ready to Apply?

Send us your resume, portfolio link, and a brief note about why you're interested in joining our team. We want to see responsive web design work. Show us sites that were actually built from your designs.

    • Accepted file types: pdf, Max. file size: 10 MB.

  • Wordpress Developer - Orlando, FL

    Apply
    • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
    • Full-time, Contract, Freelance

      The Role

We're looking for a WordPress developer who takes ownership of technical direction, not just closes tickets. You'll build custom themes from the ground up using core WordPress functionality. You'll also maintain and improve existing client sites, some of which aren't as advanced as the sites we're currently making. We need someone who can write code, troubleshoot problems and isn't above rolling up their sleeves on whatever a project requires.

You'll transform designs into clean, responsive websites, develop custom solutions, and build sites that perform well across all devices. When something isn't working, we expect you to dig into why, not just flag it and wait. You approach a quick content update with the same care as a full site build.

Your typical week includes hand-coding WordPress themes, building WooCommerce functionality, optimizing site performance, and collaborating with the team to ensure seamless design-to-development workflows. You'll work across multiple client projects simultaneously at agency pace.

      What You'll Need

      Required:

      • 3+ years experience building custom WordPress themes from the ground up
      • Proficiency with PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
      • Gutenberg block development experience
      • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) proficiency
      • WooCommerce development and customization experience
      • WordPress REST API experience
      • Strong ability to convert Figma designs to responsive, clean code
      • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
      • API integration experience (third-party services, payment gateways)
      • Version control with Git
      • Understanding of Core Web Vitals and performance optimization
      • Portfolio demonstrating custom-coded, responsive websites (no page builder work)

      Preferred:

      • Shopify theme development and Liquid templating experience
      • Experience with build tools (Vite, Webpack, Gulp, or similar)
      • Understanding of headless WordPress implementations
      • College degree
