You may have noticed that a few months ago we changed our logo. As our brand changes, we want to keep up with the image we are presenting and make sure that our visual style matches who we are. Branding is about communicating effectively with your clients, and we want people to look at our logo and know, without a doubt that we are Boldist.
There have been a lot of rebrands in the recent past that have fallen flat on their face. The companies didn’t speak to their customers and the companies idea of a brand was mismatched to how their customers perceived them. The Gap and Tropicana Orange Juice are two that come to mind. Once a brand is in the wild, it is no longer owned by just the company, it is owned by everyone. The employees. The customers.
Before a company changes the visual language of their brand, they need to understand if their customers are even ready for such a change.
We are a Branding Agency. We do “branding” every day, and we deal with these things for our customers. We always make sure that the new brand is a smooth transition from the old brand and it communicates the essence of a company’s purpose elegantly and discernibly from the competition. Because of this, we got cocky. When we rebranded ourselves, we didn’t follow our own process. We thought we knew better than everyone else. We didn’t speak to our customers and we didn’t capture the essence of our brand in a way that spoke to them. People weren’t receptive to the change and they let us know.
We went back to the drawing board and have come up with a logo that greater defines who we are, captures our personality completely and speaks to the mission that we are here to carry out. Personally, I think that our team could not have done a better job on this logo and this might be the best logo we have ever done. A masterpiece. I am so proud of the work that went into this logo, and I think I speak for all of us when I say, It’s a good day to be a Samurai.
